Claude Code cuts you off the second you hit your limit… but there's a free workaround 

1. Go to OpenRouter → grab a free API key. https://openrouter.ai

2. Tell Claude Code to use OpenRouter with your key + a free model (it sets itself up)

3. Restart — now you're building free
