2 Add the Basics

Keep this to one clear sentence — that's what shows up in the GPT Store.

3 Write the Instructions

In the instructions section, explain how you want the chatbot to behave. For example:

Example Instructions:

"You are a trusted guide in medical cannabis use. Teach people in simple, clear steps, provide structured tutorials, and answer questions using only the uploaded materials and my provided examples."

4 Add Files to the Knowledge Base

Upload PDFs, Word docs, or text files containing reputable medical sources, training guides, or your own curated notes
The chatbot will use these files as its knowledge base — meaning when people ask questions, it pulls information directly from what you uploaded

Example Knowledge Base Files:

Clinical guidelines on cannabis for pain management
A peer-reviewed article on CBD vs THC
Your own case notes with examples of best practices

This makes your chatbot both accurate and unique to your expertise.

5 Preview in the Playground (Sandbox)

On the right side panel, you'll see a preview window
This acts as your sandbox to test your GPT
Ask questions like: "What's the difference between edibles and vaping?" or "How would you explain cannabis for anxiety treatment to a beginner?"
Refine your instructions until the responses feel right

6 Share Your GPT

Once satisfied, you'll get a shareable link. You can choose:

Share GPT Dialog: Choose your sharing preference

Private (only you can access it)
Unlisted (anyone with the link can access)
Public (listed in the GPT Store for others to discover)

7 The Limitation Today

⚠️ Current Issue

Here's the current issue: there's no built-in paywall in ChatGPT to charge subscriptions for your GPT. That means you can share your chatbot, but you can't guarantee monthly recurring revenue directly inside OpenAI's system.
